Introduction to Responsible Research and Innovation

This 60-minute webinar offers an introduction to the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), which refers to a transparent, inclusive process of research and innovation that aligns with societal values, needs, and expectations. Participants will gain insights into how RRI can help address complex societal challenges in areas such as sustainability, health, or digitalization.

The webinar presents good-practice examples, discusses challenges and opportunities related to the collaboration of different stakeholder groups (e.g., researchers, policymakers, civil society, industry), and explores methods for involving them meaningfully (e.g., co-creation or participatory design). The webinar also discusses common challenges in implementing and institutionalizing RRI, including balancing conflicting interests and ensuring long-term engagement – and how Living Labs may provide settings to address these challenges. Practical tips and resources will also be shared to support participants in following RRI principles in their own research projects and practices.

The seminar is part of the series "Participatory Research". Participation in this seminar only is possible. Participants of all seminars of the series will get a certificate.
